GETTING STARTED

From zero to first conversation.

Install, connect a gateway, and have your first conversation. You bring the gateways — Fleet connects to them.

01

Before you start

You need an iPhone running iOS 26 or later and a Hermes gateway you control that your iPhone can reach over your network. Fleet ships with no maintainer endpoint and no shared credentials.

  • iPhone running iOS 26+
  • A Hermes gateway you control
  • Gateway address and credential (if you have them)
02

Install the app

Hermes Fleet beta is distributed through Apple TestFlight. The invite link will be published here when the beta opens.
03

Add your gateway

Open Add Gateway and provide a display name, the gateway endpoint, the authentication strategy, and the corresponding credential. Prefer HTTPS for any network you do not fully trust.

04

Confirm a healthy connection

After saving, the gateway should reach a healthy connected state. Per-gateway health is visible in the app. Classified failures surface in Fleet ▸ Needs You.

Fleet shows what this phone has observed. There is no fleet-wide telemetry; sections that would otherwise look empty say "N known items" instead.

05

Have your first conversation

Open the Chats tab, compose a new chat, pick a session or create one, and send a harmless prompt. The reply streams into the conversation together with any tool activity.

06

Where things live

Four tabs: Fleet (at-a-glance), Chats (conversations), Bots (fleet-wide roster), Gateways (machine registry and Gateway Detail). Command Center (⌘K) is a global search-and-jump sheet.

07

Your data and credentials

Fleet stores gateway settings on-device, credentials in the iOS Keychain, and device-local caches only. No accounts, no analytics, no ads.
